The plant closed while Bush was in office. Please be a responsible journalist and check your facts. I guess you and the Romney Campaign have the same problem.

Like the “You didn’t build it” story, which ironically is also listed as one of the many lies conservatives say about Obama, this accusation that Ryan lied is a microcosm of the divide between the two parties and their perceptions of reality. Many Obama supporters will even admit they got caught up in the excitement of 2008 and lost touch with reality, but the bottom line is, if your context is that Obama can do no wrong, then opposition to Obama is not just wrong, but unpatriotic and counter-factual. In essence, if “You didn’t build it” makes Obama look bad, you are a liar.

Ryan’s reference to the Janesville plant was series of 7 sentences, that included direct quotes from Obama, dates and timelines, and it was prefaced by a conciliatory reference to the “tough” economic hand Obama was dealt. The left has labeled this as a lie and Bill “Eat Cancer” Burton has even compared it to Goebbels and the Nazis. When confronted with the facts, like Matthew Dowd was yesterday, they retreat in to “We know what he meant”. They claim what Ryan meant was that Obama himself, alone, closed the plant. Their point being that if an accusation that Obama was completely responsible for each act that resulted in the closing then he is completely exonerated. This is such a ridiculous “You didn’t close that” standard, that no one could ever place any responsiblity on Obama for any mistake or error.

Ryan was clear. Obama promised if he was in power, the plant would be open for a century. He didn’t say, It will remain open as long as Bush doesn’t do anything naughty, as long as market conditions don’t change, as long as you guys wear special hats,….no conditions. He was clearly doing what candidates do,.. Vote for me, donate to my campaign, have your union donate to me,… and I will “Rescue” this plant from the horrible and naughty actions of George Bush.

Obama was not only failing to add Bush’s involvement or lack of involvement as a condition of his rescue, he was explaining that his super powers were so great that he would save you from your hell that was caused by Bush’s involvement. So, now to claim that Bush had the plant closed after the election but before the inaugural as the reason Ryan lied is ridiculous. Ryan’s accusers, including those comparing him to a Nazi, are not even addressing the primary point, “Did Obama rescue the plant?”

He said he would and he did not? Silence.

Is there a conspiracy so great and so powerful that the mightiest man on earth could not overcome their efforts to close this plant? What obstacle stopped Obama from keeping the plant open? Silence.

Why does he not open it now? Silence.

The accusers of Ryan call him a Nazi because of a claim he never made and No, there was no secret meaning, no dog whistle, no cat whistle. There is a simple test to determine if Ryan meant what they claim he did. By answering the above questions, which is the true meaning of what Ryan asked, you will prove that Ryan had no reason to attempt to convey the “Rescue” meme, if it is easy to answer, but it is not easy to answer. In fact, no liberal will answer it. This proves that it is such a powerful message that it makes Ryan’s true meaning self evident. It also proves Obama’s people to be liars themselves for accusing Ryan of such horrible things.

Just as the “you didnt build that” story, the so called context is even worse than what they claim the GOP is falsely accusing Obama of.

Second, he said it in February and again in October.

Third, the plant was still running several months after Obama took office.

Fourth, upon entering office Obama held GM in the palm of his hand when he for the most part nationalized the company. He could steer it where he pleased and as he proved with Solyndra, if he wanted to prop up a Corporation, he had a blank check. So he had the power to pave the floors of the Janesville GM plant with Platinum ingots. They didn’t even get their phone calls returned. Ironically as Deputy Press Secretary at the time, It was Bill Burton’s job to muzzle any inconvenient news stories about Janesville.

Fifth, He did not save Janesville. Instead under his guidance, he entered in to a joint deal with a plant in China to manufacture the same GM Trucks and Vans that had previously been made in Janesville. Sixth, the environmental restrictions on Trucks and Vans that put the plant in jeopardy in the first place were the same policies that Obama claimed would save the plant. He claimed green cars in Janesville would create a green boom.

If the mysterious green economy which is the most giant empty chair in this real life economy, had any legitimacy, then why build those trucks in China. There is only one Stratosphere and both China and the United States use the same one. So if it were true, then why would we kill US jobs building trucks to create Chinese jobs building trucks if both scenarios will result in the atmosphere and the legendary rising of the tides?

The answer: Obama got a ton of money from China for the plant in China. GM needed money, Janesville cost too much. China wanted trucks and could use Slave labor in a communist land to make GM trucks, and with the money, Obama’s flagship GM could become solvent, as long as the guys Paul Ryan went to High School with kept their traps shut.

When Ryan spoke up on behalf of the workers of Janesville, it made the Machine politics President look bad. In China,… in Chicago, and now in our National Political system, if you speak the truth about the beloved leader,… You are an enemy of the state AND must be dealt with.

The last SUV was donated to the Rockville United Way and in the ceremony I guess they decided not to type on the banner,… “oh, and our workers will still be putting out Delivery vehicles and Trucks for another 4 or 5 months”

Ryan did not claim Obama physically carried the chains to the gate and attached a lock. He truthfully quoted Obama as he conveyed he would save the plant if he became President. He did not do that. You saw the above article, yet you knowingly lie. The plant closed in April 09. What stopped Obama from saving the plant in April? Why did he send their jobs to Jilin, China? He took their votes, he took their money and he stabbed them in the back. Why can’t he open the plant know? It is still listed as being on stand-by, Why can’t Obama keep his promise now? He has 96 years to at least be partially correct on this. Ryan told the truth. Bill Burton accused him of being a Nazi for this statement. You are almost as bad.

Lolol….if you READ and comprehend the articles, those employees that stayed were there to complete an order for Isuzu. The deal was done. Suppose the imperious leader could have tried to do something, since he di indeed promise. But by the time Georack Bushama took office, GM had decided to close that plant.

I’m glad you admit that Obama “did indeed promise” the plant would be open for 100 years. He didn’t say if a decision is made to close down this GM plant which by the way also makes Isuzu trucks, and if it stops production after I win, but before inaugeration, or continues to make vehicles that you are paid to build and use many of the same parts that go in to the GM cars, but just happen to be labeled with the Isuzu name, and if after all those caveats are met… the plant is still making cars and you still have workers working here and its June of 2009, and I have been President for nearly 6 months,…. I will make sure this plant is making cars in 2009 and still making them 100 years from now.
