Piers Morgan and Wolf Blitzer Ignore Pledge of Allegiance at RNC

The shaky video shows CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and Piers Morgan nonchalantly ignoring the Pledge of Allegiance at the Republican National Conference.

Real classy guys.

From the stands, Texas RNC Delegation and NH State Senator and Veteran Jack Barns is identified in the video’s youtube description as demanding they stand up. Eventually, and it seems reluctantly, they stand up halfway through the Nation Anthem. Perhaps they saw they were being videotaped.

Just a few weeks ago at the Olympics, Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt was respectful enough to pause an interview and recognize America’s national anthem being played. Too bad American media pundits don’t have the same respect.*

*By which I mean, living and working in America, since Piers is a dirty brit.

    I think of the Jamaican runner at the Olympics who stopped an interviewer in mid sentence when he heard the American national anthem being played in the background for an American medalist. He did not return to the interview until the anthem had been completed.

    Who would have thought a Jamaican athlete would have greater moral and ethical scruples than two national journalists reporting a significant political event? Perhaps that’s why the Jamaican is a champion and the two journalists are just hacks at their trade.
